Hi, I'm Fred.
For 30 years, I was blessed to serve the local church in a wide variety of settings, styles, sizes, seasons and specialties. I had stretches where I grew and the work I did with God thrived. And times where I felt alone, was discouraged and wanted to quit.

What made the difference between flourishing and frustration? Often, it came down to leadership.
I worked under some leaders who were fantastic, others who were average and a couple who weren't good at leading people. I may also have been all three types of leader at times myself.​
For better or worse, the choices and character of leaders deeply impact the lives of others.
​
And leadership isn't easy. Those who accept that mantle feel the weight of responsibility and face unique challenges.
Leaders need and deserve support. Often from someone who isn't their boss, on their board or in their congregation.
Which is why I started Overflow.
